Macro & Close-Up Workshop
The world in miniature is often overlooked but when seen through a macro lens it reveals beautiful and fascinating nature that makes amazing photographic subject matter. Colourful butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies emerge from their winter slumber in early spring in search of food and warmth. They offer the close-up photographer some excellent opportunities for cracking images and come in many shapes, sizes and colours.
With the onset of autumn we see a profusion of fungi appear in our woodlands and parklands. They love the damp weather that this season brings and can appear overnight in many shapes and sizes. When viewed from above they may not appear that appealing but from below, with their fragile gills exposed, they make excellent photographic subjects

Coastal Landscape Workshop
The Sussex coastline offers an abundance of photographic locations. Coastal photography always offers something different as each tide leaves new patterns on the sand, re-arranging the stones and pebbles into new compositions. From wide sweeping vistas, Victorian piers, colourful beach huts, the list of possible subjects is wide and varying.
Ripples in the sand, side lit by the first or last light of the day, create an almost lunar landscape and add great foreground interest to coastal shots. Capturing the motion of the sea as it washes the shingle beach can create soft lines and tones. Photographing crashing waves on sea defences shows the power of the ocean.
Possible locations would include Birling Gap, Worthing, Goring-by-Sea or Littlehampton.
